Outcome

Development output approximately doubled — from 12 tickets to 25 — without increasing headcount.

Business context

Enroll Here is a platform for insurance sales organizations, including call centers selling Medicare and related products. Its broader application covers lead management, agent performance, compliance, enrollment, and commissions. The engagement improved delivery within that existing business rather than replacing the product.

The challenge

Enroll Here is an established health insurance software application. Traditional development cycles were long, and the business wanted to introduce AI into its work, improve its process, and deliver new features faster.

The goal: increase development output without increasing headcount while supporting the existing product.

My role

I served as Solutions Architect and AI Solutions Architect, working directly with the owner on business needs, the solution plan, and priorities. I structured the work with my engineers and kept the owner involved through regular progress updates and delivered outputs.

I worked with the existing technical team and CTO on product practices, engineering workflows, and review expectations.

How the workflow changes

With the new SMS feature, an insurance agent can follow up with incoming prospects by text — one example of new product work shipped during the engagement. In parallel, the engineering workflow moved through clearer task definition, AI-assisted implementation, technical review, and delivery back to the business.

Product experience and design

Design support was incremental within the existing application. The key experience change was giving agents a text-based follow-up capability while improving the process used to deliver it.

Architecture and implementation

The engagement began with product review and knowledge transfer. I worked directly with the CTO and existing engineers on pull request review. Missing documentation was addressed with an engineering guide that aligns practices and reduces work returning to development — governance around AI-assisted implementation.

Delivery approach

Fully managed product and development support, with lower development costs and shorter delivery time. Product management practices and AI workflows were introduced alongside the existing team rather than replacing it.

Results and current status

The team approximately doubled development output without increasing headcount. The engagement combined new feature delivery with changes to the team's day-to-day product and engineering practices.

Scope

Reported delivery output over a comparable period. No cost baseline is claimed.
